My heart rate during relatively intense intervals hovers around 90. Hanging my arm at my side during a break and it jumps to the 150s. When walking it can break 100. I did not have this issue with my Fitbit - so it can be done right with wrist based monitors. Have not yet tried rowing without it in indoor rowing mode. Will try that next.

Wet the band, repositioned it, run the update on Garmin Express (I think it was already up to date anyway - v.8.0.0), soaked the band, went for a jog, tried outside, inside, in the basement. My watch just refuses to detect the Premium Heart Rate Monitor. I had just purchased the heart rate monitor, so I took it back to the shop.
Garmin’s optical HR sensor. One of the main reasons for me upgrading to the Fēnix 5 was the inbuilt OHR sensor, but some basic back-to-back tests conducted shortly after buying the device in January 2019 proved unsatisfactory and I carried on using the chest strap for all workouts … until now. Still, every cloud has a silver lining, so I
Bring the device within 3 m (10 ft.) of the sensor. NOTE: Stay 10 m (33 ft.) away from other wireless sensors while pairing. Hold MENU. Select Settings > Sensors & Accessories > Add New. I recently bought a Garmin Fenix 6. I would like to know if I can use an external heart rate sensor for an activity (gym, crossfit ) without wearing the watch. I am between Garmin HRM Pro and Polar OH1+ ( I think the Polar would be more comfortable). For gym / crossfit i use strength activity on my garmin.
With this you can see the heart rate in the Mac app or the iPhone app ? russell.r.sage January 9, 2019, 1:08pm 4. You can have multiple “applications” connected to a device that broadcasts over ANT+, which your HR monitor supports. So you can have your Forerunner and TR App both connected to the same HR monitor.
I'm having massive problems with my external heart rate monitor. After about 39 minutes the frequency goes crazy, it shoots up or falls down completely. It doesn't matter whether the connection is established via ANT+ or Bluetooth. On a bike as well as on a run. To make sure it wasn't the belt, I tested it with two different belts.
Fenix 6 pro heart rate monitor does not work. I got my fenix 6 pro two day before and everything was fine. In the first night it performed an update to 5.0. It worked all well until today 17:30.since then the heart rate sensor is dead. The green lights do not light up anymore, no heart rate is displayed. Not even if I start an activity.
